Hours after political thugs alleged to be working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) attacked and vandalized the state secretariat of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Lokoja, arsonist returned to burn the party building.
The SDP secretariat located around Paparanda Square, Lokoja,
was attacked on Sunday where windows and doors of the secretariat were shattered while banners, posters and other campaign materials at the secretariat were destroyed and replaced with the posters of the candidate of APC, governor Yahaya Bello.
The party, which had earlier raised the alarm that there is an ongoing plan by governor Yahaya Bello to attack the convoy of the SDP candidate, Barr Natasha Akpoti, adding that the unfolding event has affirmed the allegation.
The spokesman for the Natasha/Khalid campaign organization, Mr. Joel Odaudu Minister berated the ruling party for resorting to violence and gestapo style to win at all cost.
