A chieftain of  All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Hon. Muhammad Mabo Kasim has called on electorate in the state to look forward to the forthcoming governorship election with great optimism and positive possibilities as a away of making the state great again.

Mabo Kasim who is the coordinator  of a frontline APC governorship aspirant, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin in charge of Kogi West Senatorial district, made the call during an interview with journalists in Lokoja.

The pioneer Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi state said Usman Jibrin is poised to lead the charge to establish the Kogi of our dreams  if given the mandate to serve.

According to him, the APC under the leadership of late Prince Abubakar Audu campaigned to the people of Kogi State in 2015 with the promise of provision of infrastructures and good governance.

“Our party was committed to good governance and a participatory democracy which we sold to Kogites during our electioneering campaigns. It is based on that promise that the masses of Kogi state voted for late Prince Audu in a peaceful, free, fair, credible and transparent election in 2015,” he said.

He called on electorate to vote for APC which he described as the only veritable platform for development, adding that the 2019 governorship  elections provides the electorate great opportunity to vote Usman Jibrin who is aspiring under the platform of APC.

Mabo appealed to the NWC of APC on the need to be mindful of the integrity of whoever would be the flagbearer of the party at the November governorship poll.

“Our candidate must be someone who can pass the integrity test. The party candidate for November governorship poll should also be adjudged to be above board in positions of responsibility they held in the past.”

When asked why he contested under the platform of ADC during last year House of Representatives by-election in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, Mabo said: “lack of internal democracy made some of us to contest under another platform. You will recall that I was not a joiner like those alleging me of dumping my party, we formed APC with people like our leaders late Prince Abubakar Audu, from ACN, late Ocholi, from the CPC and late  Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril among others.

“As the Chairman of CPC. we won the only House of reps seat in the entire north Central, Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, with one Governor from Nasarawa State. Even the candidate of APC during the said by-election who was the Council Chairmanship Candidate was nurtured by the same leaders.

“I was the pioneer chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi state, I was among those that supervised the formation of the party in the state and all its structures.

“I still remain a dedicated member of APC and I will work tirelessly in seeing that my party win at the November governorship election.

“We cannot abandon the house we laboured to build its now time to rescue the state and restored the image of APC which Kogites voted massively for in 2015”, he concluded.
