The House of Representative candidate for Dekina/ Bassa, Usman Okai Austin, has expressed confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will form the next government in Kogi state.
While encouraging Kogites not to give up or be discouraged by the party’s performance in the
just concluded general elections, Okai said they were deceived by the introduction of BVAS by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Okai said while they were relying on BVAS, thee electoral commission and some security operatives were busy aiding and manipulating election results for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He described APC victory in the state as temporal, adding that the people of the state are tired of Governor Yahaya Bello and his party’s gross failure and their inability to meet up with the development requirements of the state.
He noted that despite the massive fraud that characterized the last general elections, PDP did well in other states like Plateau and Zamfara where APC was dislodged by the electorate. He said these victories will serve as a source of inspiration step for them in Kogi state.
Okai said the PDP will produce a very acceptable candidate in the coming primary election, insisting that victory is sure for the party with the collective efforts.
“Look at Plateau state, Tinubu campaign DG was unable to produce his own successor because the people of Plateau were determined to rescue the state.
“The same same scenario played out in Zamfara and this was made possible because the candidate was popular and the people were ready,” he said.
