Former Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada has appealed to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) delegates in Kabba-Bunu local government area, to invest their votes in him during the party primary election.
Captain Wada pointed out that the next phase of his administration, if voted into power, will bring prosperity to the people.
The former governor made this known in Kabba during his state-wide tour to solicit support of party delegates for his governorship bid.
He went down the memory lane to remind the people that his administration established Alape Staple Cassava Project which was meant to empower no fewer than 100,000 farmers in the state.
He, however, lamented that, in spite of the good intention of his administration for the project, his successor abandoned it.
Wada also pointed out that the project was to attract about $300 million investment from the World Bank.
“The feasibility study favours Alape, but the present administration wanted to relocate it to the Central Senatorial District,” he disclosed.
He maintained that, “the project is dear to my heart, as a result of the benefits the people will derive from it. I will restore the project if elected.”
In her remark, the woman Leader of PDP for the local government assured the him of their votes, during the primary election.
Also, Rev G. O. Maiye, a stakeholder of the party, thanked Capt Wada for promising to restore the Alape Staple Cassava Project.
Hon Enimola thanked the former governor for answering the clarion call to contest the November governorship election.
