Kogi State government has expressly approved the release of N713,716,887 for the execution of the expansion and reticulation of Okene water works project.
This was part of resolutions reached at the end of the State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Lokoja on Thursday.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammed Onogwu who briefed the media after the executive council meeting, noted that the fund released was very key especially for the people of Kogi central who for a long time have experienced scarcity of portable water supply.
He noted that the project has been on going and the funds released would facilitate the prompt completion of the project for the benefit of the people of the state.
Also, the state government directed 100 per cent salary payment for the teachers henceforth.
