The Governor, Captain Idris Wada said this at Obangede, headquarters of Okehi Local Government Area.
He said that free rural medical treatment has been an intervention by the government for rural dwellers who cannot afford the payment for some curable diseases, even as he assured the people to continue the programme to assist the indigent ones.
Wada stated that the medical services had been carried out in the three senatorial districts of the state in line with the promises made during his electioneering campaign in 2011.
He also disclosed that the government has executed 60 rural electrification projects in two years, stressing that more towns and villages will be connected to the national grid to boost socio economic development.
Wada expressed gratitude to the people for their support noting that government will not renege in its efforts to ensure equitable distribution of facilities.
He pointed out that several communities in the state have been supplied with electricity, saying that more than 10 communities in Okehi Local Government Area are awaiting to be connected to the national grid.
Wada said the effort is aimed at providing rapid development at the grass roots, pointing out that the administrationโs transformation agenda will touch the lives of everyone in the state.
On agriculture,the governor maintained that Kogi is in lock step with the federal government agricultural transformation agenda, even as it has established rice mills in Lokoja.
He pointed out that empowerment is top priority of government, saying that special programme has been established where the youths are trained in skills for self reliance.
