Kogi State government has distance itself from information making rounds that Governor Yahaya Bello has ordered for a fresh round of staff verification exercise in the state.
The Director General Media and Publicity to the governor, Kingsley Fanwo made this known in series of tweets on his handle on Tuesday.
He noted that staff verification exercise initiated by the state government had since been concluded.
“The Kogi State Government wishes to place on record that it has not ordered for another round of staff screening. The rumor doing the round that government has called for another round of staff screening is false, misleading and the imagination of the peddlers.
“We wouldn’t have bothered to respond to such falsehood woven in mischief, but for the respect we have for our civil servants and members of the public who might be misled by such spurious misinformation if not tamed.
“The desire of the State Government to ascertain its actual workforce was realized in the concluded staff verification exercise which was quite successful and has set the stage for the holistic reforms in the service.
“We therefore urge civil servants and members of the public to dismiss the rumor and continue their legitimate business of joining the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello to reposition the state and rebound it towards purpose driven leadership,” he said.
