- Promise to end percentage payment of salary to Kogi workers.
Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, the candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the November 11 Kogi State governorship election, has promised to modernize Lokoja, Kabba, Isanlu, Okehi, Okene, Dekina, Ankpa, Idah and Anyigba with state-of-the-art infrastructures.
Ajaka made the promise when he played host to different groups and influential politicians in Abuja on Tuesday.
He assured that under his administration, the issue of fractional salaries for teachers, local government workers, and other professionals would be a thing of the past.
He also promised to eradicate financial leakages and grant autonomy to council chairmen to enable them to fulfill their duties effectively.
One of the influential groups led by Hajia Mariam Yakubu, the Kogi State women leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), along with executives from the Kogi East senatorial district, expressed their unwavering support for Ajaka during a courtesy visit to his campaign office in Abuja.
During the meeting, Hajia Mariam Yakubu and the NNPP executives lauded Ajaka’s notable accomplishments and philanthropic endeavors toward the welfare of the people.
They emphasized that Murtala embodies a movement that has gained momentum, with various political parties and support groups uniting to liberate the state from the current administration’s misrule.
In response, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka expressed his gratitude to the NNPP women leader and the party’s executive members.
He outlined his objective of revitalizing the political landscape of Kogi State for the better. Ajaka sincerely appreciated the group and other supporters who have aligned themselves with him, his deputy, and the entire party in their collective quest for the emancipation of Kogi State.
Alhaji Muri Ajaka went on to underscore his plans to prioritize agriculture, harness mineral resources, and establish an inclusive government that caters to the needs of women, youth, and individuals with physical disabilities in the state. His team has devised strategies for the creation of the Kogi Construction Corporation, which aims to connect inter-local government roads and provide access to farming areas and settlements throughout the state.
On Tuesday, numerous political groups paid a visit to the Social Democratic Party candidate, pledging their support for the party.
These groups included the Association of Retired Permanent Secretaries from Kogi East, G.21 Rescue Mission led by Mr. Okpanachi Edicha, Women Independent Campaign Organisation led by Hajia Faket, Lokoja/Koto Muri/Sam Network, We Stand With Muri group, Peter Obi Coalition Support Group for Muri in the Idah federal constituency, and the Kogi East Patriotic Forum, among others.
Speaking with newsmen after the visits, a chieftain of SDP in Kogi state, Muhammad Ahmad, said the endorsement from these influential figures serves as a significant boost to Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka’s campaign and signifies his position as the frontrunner in the upcoming election.
“With his ambitious plans to transform the state and his unwavering commitment to serving the people, Ajaka undoubtedly emerges as the ideal choice for Kogi State,” he said.
