Ohinoyi of Ebira of Ebira land, Dr Ado Ibrahim, has charged the governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hon. Leke Abejide to be courageous.

The highly respected monarch gave the charge when Abejide and his running mate, Dr. Idris Omede paid him a courtesy visit in Okene on Friday.

The Ohinoyi of Ebira land told Abejide and Omede that the price of victory is never cheap, urging both not to entertain fear.

“I want to wish you all the best wishes this traditional stool can bestow on a man with good intentions to run for such a hectic position against all odd.

“We have gotten to a stage where we need to come together, conquer together as one and prosper together as one entity and that is the purpose I see in Hon. Leke Abejide.

“Success in life does not depend on man but depends on God, you are born to defeat fear and conquer crisis.

“Although, I am not a politician but a father to all politicians, every father wants a good child. Kogi state, the Okun, Ebira and Igala were the founders of the civilization of the North, therefore we are one entity, don’t ever feel disappointed. I am here as a father to support you.

“I see young faces here, men and women which gives me the first pride of hope. We need to pray for the right people to come up now to power, humility, prayer and dedication are what can make this achievable, therefore, the price of victory is never cheap, do not entertain worry. Those who know you know you can only do what you can do for the best,” he said.

The monarch prayed for Hon. Leke and Dr Omede for God’s guidance, blessings and victory.

Earlier, Abejide told the monarch that he is on a rescue mission to salvage Kogi state.

The ADC governorship candidate confirmed to the monarch that he will pay WAEC fees for all the students in Kogi state by October 2023.

“This is to show that the capacity is there and I am passionate about education. Doing this is another form of empowerment. Parents in petty trading who struggle to pay their children’s fees will be relieved.

“I will be a governor to all and also use the state resources for the people of the state judiciously.

“I will also grant local government autonomy, to make unemployed youth to be gainfully employed, and reduce crime rates while poverty at the local level will be tackled.

“Women will not be left out as they will get a free interest loan to boost and support their businesses, because when you raise one woman you have raised six generations. Therefore, the SMEs will receive a boost if elected as the governor of Kogi State come November 2023.

“In the area of healthcare, my Deputy governorship candidate is a medical doctor, a former president of NMA and formerly a commissioner for health in Kogi state. He is loaded with experience to improve the healthcare system.

“Agriculture is not left out. Building modern infrastructures and making reasonable use of the abundant mineral resources embedded in Kogi state in the interest of all is not left out in my agenda to rescue Kogi state”.

“My faith tells me Godliness with contentment is a great gain, for whatever a man soweth, he shall reap, we brought nothing and we shall go with nothing”, he said.

Abejide humbly asked for the support of the people of Kogi Central, telling them to consider character, competence and reliability in his candidacy.
