The Comrade Abdullahi Adamu Support Group has demanded that the Director General of the APC Campaign Council for the November 11th, 2023 gubernatorial election must come from Kogi West and demanded that it comes from Lokoja/Kotonkarfe axis.

This is contained in a press statement signed by the convener of the group, Comrade Iliyasu Zakari and made available by its Head of Media and Publicity, Yabagi Mohammed.

The group’s statement comes against the backdrop of the unveiling of the deputy governorship candidate for the party, Comrade Salifu Oyibo Joel on Saturday.

The group noted that with delight that since the governorship candidate comes from central and the deputy from the east, it is only right for the party to consider the west for the position of the Director General of the campaign council and that Lokoja/Koto has worked hard enough in all previous elections to clinch the post.

“As a federal constituency, Lokoja/Kotonkarfe remains the most consistent when it comes to delivering for the ruling party in all elections since the inception of the APC. It is only right that we are considered for the post because our principal, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu who is aspiring for the position of chairman of Lokoja Local Government is also an advocate of the position we hold on this matter.

“As a progressive group, we know that Governor Yahaya Bello is an advocate of fairness and justice and we are sure he would ensure we achieve this demand. Lokoja/Koto should get to direct the affairs of the campaign council for November’s governorship election,” the statement concluded.
