Kogi: Gov. Bello to Create Financial Sustainability for Women – Amupitan

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Josephine Amupitan disclosed that mechanisms has been put in place by the present administration towards achieving financial availability and support to women in the rural areas.
She stated this recently at the inauguration of Omala LGA chapter, Governor Yahaya Bello Support Women Network (GYBSWoN) which was held at the local government headquarters.
Amupitan further stated that  GYBSWoN is tailored at mobilizing support and enlightening women at the grassroots on Gov. Bello-led administration and programs of the government.
She urged women at the grassroot to compose agricultural/entrepreneurship cooperatives to enable them benefit from steady grants and loans, initiatives of the government.
Amupitan noted that the Ministry has implore effective strategy to achieve fair sharing of the grants and make available information that will be of benefits to them
“Women have been selected from each polling unit that will reach out to other women and this benefits are not restricted to women from other political parties”, she said.
Earlier, the wife of the Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello who was represented by her Senior Special Assistant on Administration, Hon. Kelechi Ajayi called on the women to remain supportive of the present administration and believe in the policies of Governor Bello.
The occasion had in attendance,  Administrator of the local government area and his wife, secretary to the LGA, Special Adviser to the Governor on women affairs and pension, civil service and labour matters, SSA on women and children, SSA tertiary education, other government officials and women groups.
Guests were also entertained by the Omala cultural troupe and others
