Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Thursday was conferred with the 2018 Governor of the Year award by the Leadership Group, over his numerous achievements as Governor of the State in the last three years.
The prestigious award was conferred on Governor Bello at the International Conference Centre, Abuja alongside Governors of Taraba, Enugu, Ebonyi as well as Chief Executives of reputable organizations, politicians, brands, Government agencies and other individuals who received awards in other categories.
Receiving the award on behalf of Governor Yahaya Bello, the Kogi State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ibrahim Sanni Muhammed, SAN thanked the Leadership Group for finding him worthy to receive such an highly reputable award.
The Governor specially dedicated the award to his mother, whose 93 days travail in the den of kidnappers in 2013 stirred a desire to pursue a safe and secured Kogi State for all citizens and dwellers.
Governor Bello used the medium to again reiterate the commitment of his administration to continue leverage on the successes of his Administration which has earned him such recognition by the Leadership group.
Governor Yahaya Bello was praised by the organiser of the award for his infrastructure development and fight against insecurity in the state.
