Victims affected by the recent flooding in Kogi State have been urged to remain patient while awaiting the final disbursement of grants to them.

Capt. Idris Wada, the Kogi State Governor, stated this at the submission of the final reports of the list of persons affected by Liaison officers from the nine Local Government Areas of the State.

Capt. Idris Wada, used the medium to call on those affected not to constitute themselves into pressure groups for use by mischief makers.

“The process towards the disbursement of the grant to the flood victims may be slow,” the State, the Governor noted had never witnessed such magnitude of flood, thus making it necessary for a thorough assessment so that only genuinely affected would get assistance.

The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi assured that the grant from the Federal Government which is largely intact and has not be veered as speculated, the State Government in the next few days would begin the final disbursement to genuinely affected persons.

The Governor appealed for patience as the State Government is committed to ensuring that the grant which is not money meant to be shared as been suggested in some quarters will be used for the purpose it is intended for.
