The wife of Kogi Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, has restated her commitment to promoting policies that safeguard children’s rights in the state.

Mrs Ododo gave the assurance in a statement on Tuesday in Lokoja, to commemorate this year’s children’s day.

She expressed deep admiration for the resilience, dreams, and boundless potential of Nigerian children, especially “the bright and promising children of Kogi State.”

“As Nigeria marks Children’s Day, I extend my warm felicitations to children across the state; the light of our future and the pride of every home.

“As a mother, I see in every child the hope of a better tomorrow.

“Their laughter, curiosity, and imagination remind us of the beauty of life itself and the duty we owe them; to protect, nurture, and prepare them for greatness,” she said.

She emphasised the government’s ongoing efforts under Ododo’s administration to promote policies that safeguard children’s rights.

She added: “To expand their access to education, and create safe, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.

“On this Children’s Day, I reaffirm my commitment to being a voice for the voiceless, a comfort to the vulnerable, and a champion for every child in Kogi state.

“Your wellbeing is not just a priority—it is a sacred responsibility”.

The gov’s wife appreciated parents, teachers, and child rights advocates for their unwavering dedication and sacrifice, saying they are essential partners in building a brighter future for the next generation.

She advised children to continue to dream big, stay curious, and believe in their ability to make a difference.
