The 2013 Federation cup final may be shifted from May 4 to a-week later due the clash with the upcoming Kogi Local governments’ election.

Reports emanating from the secretariat of the Kogi State Football Association say the postponement maybe as results of increasing concern over hopes of having Governor Idris Wada of Kogi state to watch the finals.

Source hinted that efforts are currently been made by the Kogi FA to meet the Nigeria Football Federation’s competition directorate office with an appeal for a change of date for the final match.

The Kogi State Federation cup final is scheduled for May 4, 2013 same day with the Kogi State Local Governments’ Election in 21 area councils.

The arrangement of the state annual tournament was endorsed by the Nigeria Football Federation with no earlier consideration about the long-scheduled May 4 Kogi Local governments’ election due to an oversight from local organisers.

As it stands, the anticipated May 4 for the Kogi Federation cup finals will no longer be as sources close to the Kogi FA secretariat suggests a-week later from earlier date though will be announced soon.
