Elites of Kogi State have been urged to reconsider their investment approach and style as its concerns their interest in investing within and around the state.
In a release to announce the nomination of Dr. Femi Akande, the MD/CEO of Treasures Bakery and Confectioneries as the winner of the BEBM Exhibitions 2017 Entrepreneur Champions Award, the group called on Kogites, particularly the elite,s to emulate the ingenuity of this young MD/CEO for taking interest in contributing his quota to the economic development of the state.
It described his action as a contribution to the economic rejuvenation of Lokoja, particularly as most multinational businesses attracted to the area during the pre-independence era as a result of its prime location along the River Niger have since left due to the blockage of the water channel and non-commitment of the successive governments to the continuous dredging of the river whereby enhancing transportation through the Niger to the sea area of Delta and Lagos.
The group also commended the efforts of Dr. Femi Akande for his consistent commitment to the eradication of poverty through the various intervention activities of his outfit like the Empowerment to Widows and Orphans; Contributions to Youth Employment and the Support of the Management of the Treasures Bakery and Confectioneries as an organization is offering to the clean and safe environment advocacy.
It called on Kogi indigenes with businesses to establish branches or outlets in the state arguing that by so doing the state will graduate from being a civil service based economy to a business hub with high economic development quotient particularly in the area of agriculture, hospitality and tourism, commerce and solid minerals extractions and development.
The release signed by Chief Benjamin Fejuku; the Baaolo of Oworo Kingdom and the Secretary to the BEBM Exhibition Advisory Council, indicated that Dr. Femi Akande will be decorated as winner of the 2017 Entrepreneur Champions Award at a ceremony in the premises of Treasures Bakery and Confectioneries on Saturday 2nd of December, 2017.
