Barely two weeks to the general elections, the Senatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), for Kogi East Senatorial seat at the National Assembly, Senator Atai Idoko has begged the electorate from the zone and the entire members of the party to forgive him for all the wrong doings while in office and work for his victory at the polls.

The senatorial candidate who spoke on Saturday in Lokoja at the stakeholders gatherings to map out  last minutes strategies for the success of all the PDP candidates made the plea while on his knees to solicit the support of the members of the party and begged that they should temper Justice with mercy for all his offences.

The sins of the senatorial faithful according to some aggrieved members of PDP from Kogi east include; non-performance in terms of execution of constituency projects as well as the hijack of the party’s ticket without following due process.

Atai Idoko said that his public reconciliation at the stakeholder’s forum became mandatory for him in order to finally resolve all the internal crises rocking the party, saying that “all members should see themselves as one family to give them the needed strength to fight external bodies and come out victorious”

In his opening speech at the gathering, the Chairman of Atiku Campaign Council in Kogi state and former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, said that PDP remains a party to beat in the state and the only political platform that can be used to rescue the people of the state from the current poverty level in the state being inflicted on them by the ruling All Progressives Party (APC).

He therefore appealed to the electorate across the three senatorial districts of the state to come out in their large numbers and vote for all PDP candidates in the February and March elections.
