An online opinion poll conducted by a Kogi-based social media influencer, Robert Arome Eboh, revealed that the much anticipated 2019 Kogi East senatorial election will be a two horse race between the candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji and the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Dr. Jibrin Isah Echocho.
The 48-hours long poll which ended on Saturday showed that both Adoji and Echocho have strong followership that can tilt the forthcoming election either way.
Adoji of the ADC emerged winner with 135 votes and was closely followed by Echocho of the APC with 117 votes.
Speaking with Kogireports.com, Eboh berated supporters of Echocho for bandying false report on the open opinion poll.
“The online poll ended yesterday by 6:30pm after lasting for 48hours with Dr Victor Alewo Adoji of the ADC polling the highest number of votes, 135. He was followed by Ahj. Isah Jibril Echocho of the APC who polled 117 votes. Incumbent Senator Aidoko Ali of the PDP scored 4 votes, Senator Abdulrahman Railway of SDP got 3 votes while Comrade Amade Edime of the APDA had 1 vote. The contest was a keenly contested one as it was a neck to neck fight between Adoji and Echocho.
“The poll was followed by supporters of all the contending candidates like Felix Omachoko Solomon, Omachi Isaac Achor, Kogi Rebel, Ugbedeojo Nelson Peter, Onoja Alh Danjuma, Maji Isah, Sufyan Adam, Prosper Elijah Salifu, Felix Ojoachele, Onogwu Galacticus and so many other online personalities.
“While posting the results, I made a typographical error, I wrote 177 as votes garnered by Echocho as against his actual 117 votes. It was to my surprise that the Team Echocho guys are dwelling on the initial result I posted, which was corrected. Those spreading the incorrect result are missing out on the aim and objectives of the online poll. Self deception is the worst thing that can happen to a man. The real and verifiable polls process can be viewed online https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1875564542496959&id=100001302947352.
“We in Team DVAA knows that we have a lot of work ahead as we intend to defeat Echocho with wide margin in the general election.  The Team Echocho should stop propagating falsehood and face the reality. One good take-away from the poll is the evident truth that incumbent Senator Aidoko’s acceptability is waning and electorate,” he said.
