The Kogi East APC Concerned Group wishes to draw the attention of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, stakeholders, and members of the public to growing concerns surrounding the forthcoming APC senatorial primaries in Kogi East Senatorial District.

His Excellency Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is respectfully urged to exercise independent judgment and resist any undue influence being exerted by Abdulahi Bello, Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, and Dr. Habibat Oyiza Tijjani Onumoko, Accountant General of Kogi State, in matters concerning the senatorial primary of Murtala Yakubu Ajaka within the All Progressives Congress.

It is on record that a peaceful resolution has been reached between Yakubu Murtala Ajaka and former Governor His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello. That understanding was not reached in haste. It reflects a deliberate commitment to unity, and it deserves to be honoured by all parties, particularly those who operate within the political orbit of the former Governor.

Any sustained pressure on Governor Ododo to exclude or disadvantage Murtala Ajaka in the forthcoming APC Senate primaries, in disregard of that settled understanding, will undermine the spirit of reconciliation already established and may create unnecessary tensions within the party.

Ajaka enjoys deep grassroots support across Kogi East Senatorial District. It is therefore important that the forthcoming APC Senate primaries are conducted in a manner that reflects fairness, transparency, and respect for democratic principles, so as to sustain the confidence of party members and supporters across the district.

The people of Kogi East remain committed to a peaceful and united APC, and they expect a credible process that strengthens party cohesion rather than creating avoidable tensions.

The Kogi APC cannot afford internal divisions at a time when unity, reconciliation, and inclusiveness remain essential to the continued strength and stability of the party. We therefore call on Governor Ododo and the leadership of the APC to uphold the spirit of fairness, political maturity, and unity in the overall interest of the party and the people of Kogi State.

A united APC remains stronger and better positioned for lasting political success.
