Sequel to the article titled ‘Kogi East 2019; The Race Is Not About Echocho, It’s About Humanity In Us….’ This post is a rejoinder.
I wonder the consciousness of mind when people gentrifies personal nacissism on the fore of a seemingly public defiance. I said these earlier that, humanitarianism is a natural obligation that human of all sorts is indicted of. In fact, we are somewhat obliged to one another by probity of our existence, ranging from nature’s endowment to the environment we practically find ourselves. According to Albert Einstein, “We cannot despair of humanity, since we ourselves are human beings.” Another quote am unable to recall it’s source right now is “Humanity should be our race. Love should be our religion.
But the sanctimony here is, humanitarianism has been expropriated by some Nigerians particularly the privileged elite to choreograph political ambition. As a matter of reality, it’s now a panorama critical to political adroitness.
Consequently, the rots in the system persists pertinaciously as politician sucks from our treasury and vaunt in agbada daily yet undeterred, moreover, why Nigeria political system is beclouded with do or die affair syndrome is not far fetched. Earlier last week, it was reported by the print media that politicians now sell/lease their mansions to raise fund for campaign. An act which justified the infectious syndrome of give-and-take kind of politics ravaging the society. Of course! To electorates and candidates, political system is more of a business entity than intent, where jobless party delegates/supporters amass wealth for themselves. That is why in our current dispensation, the choice of candidate for elective positions no longer tally with collective will and aspirations, but basically on selfish interest of few. We hide under the disguise of media branded achievement to obstrude individual whom we feel would service our pockets and ego.
If the PhD affixed to the writer’s name is just a sobriquet, I recline, but if otherwise, we may need to renounce sourcing for elites group to proffer a lasting solution to our socioeconomic quandary. How can a professor presume candidate’s political potency based on mere good will? Even the benighted knows that the current political tension can be doused by independent alignment. That is, a candidate whose political profile and evaluation devoid godfatherism, loyalty, money bag politics and cabal influenced candidature.
Before I move on, let me sound this very clear that Nigerians are the architect of their political mess. Already, our leaders have created a helpless situation that would constantly writs conformity of our conscience at their whims and caprice. But with selfishness and ignorance, we relentlessly bring the same political retrogressive formulas to the fore year after year. This will be detailed at tomorrow’s moonlight.
Back to business, certain crumbs of comfort which we regard as remedial to momentary covets has beclouded our sense of reasoning. Our inability to harmonize with the character theory which says; human being is naturally unpredictable’ is a determinant of how and where we pass vote of confidence on political aspirants in line with activities that characterizes their political archives forthwith.
Now let us come to a term with the following simple facts;
-In humanitarianism, interest of all rescinds the interest of one. Therefore, a tender to serve humanity should also entail the safety of those one is longing to serve. Had Jibrin Isah Echocho cogitated on this facts, he would have eschewed from a government that has no transformation blueprint for Kogites even in the next century.
– In humanitarian bride, every admirer is sacrosanct to a particular mission, thus, all hands must be unfolded in order to create enabling environment for all. But Echocho’s political dairies forbids such as a well performing local government chairman has been sacked upon discovering his intentions to compete with him (Echocho) in the senatorial race. Now my question is simple; Where is the humanity in Jibrin Isah Echocho that should have queried such dubious act of the governor? Or does humanitarianism entails other names than selfless services to humanity?
I would willingly vote Jibrin Isah Echocho if his e-minions can as well do justice to this question;
1. Where was he when Yahaya Bello roared for his deputy despite been the brain behind APC’s victory in 2015?
2. Achievement by virtue of processes has the capacity of mouthing an achiever before his beneficiaries. So if the write up by the professor as well as calls and sms he claimed to have received are not just a mere propaganda to please his paymaster, why then does Echocho still rely on the unpredictable political gimmickry of GYB to get voted? Or why does a saint like him still partake in the sharing of civil servants’ salaries for his campaign fund?
Until the above questions are convincingly answered I would persist with my reservations on Echocho’s credibility especially now that the race for genuine legislative representation is the foremost.
Bring Echocho to lecture you on the don’ts of wealth, he will simply tell you to steer clear of Igala people because to him, everything he had labored for was dissipated by them. He is going to the senate to recover all he has lost, and as such, it less mattered to him if GYB garner supporters in Kogi East with guns. He is currently the medium through which Yahaya Bello and his chief of staff would hold Igalaland to ransom in 2019 as evidenced in the fallacious financial inducement as well as empty promises ICDA has been subjected to.
To the glory of God, nemesis is on rampage between GYB and PMB which may likely deny the state of last tranche of Paris club. Moreover, I don’t want to become a prophet of Baal, I would have advised Echocho and his paid writers to thread consciously with the sudden anointing from the governor because I didn’t see how far such entente can go. Moreover, by the time we would be remembering the inflicted injuries through the scar, Echocho would not come to mind. No doubt, his statesmanship in the affairs is for sure, therefore, it’s advisable that he should staunchly adhere to the fact.
If it’s about humanity, Echocho is not the right candidate because;
He has aligned him self with a visionless government.
Evils so much of a saint aspiring to sanctify the land is perpetrating yet unquestioned. For instance, the ridiculous accusation of Igala people of impoverishing him, the removal of Igalamela Odolu local government chairman and his campaign been funded directly with civil servants salaries.
Echocho is aspiring for the senatorial post as a means of securing wealth and cosmic power.
His emergence as senator will only service the wishes of the governor and his chief of staff. He would ensure that GYB is re-imposed on Kogites in 2019
Finally, this may be rhetoric but it’s prophetic that, the only avenue for a clear headed choice of leaders in both lugard and Legislative houses is to avoid Echocho and his principals as we look forward to a level playing ground for all aspirants.
GOD BLESS OUR LAND
