Kogi Donates Chairs to Physically Challenged Persons

A total of 210 physically challenged persons have benefited from the free wheel chairs presented by Kogi State Government.

The chairs were donated by a non -governmental organisation, ‘Associated Help Centre’, USA to Kogi State Government.

The Governor, Captain Idris Wada who disclosed this while speaking during presentation of wheel chairs to the physical challenged persons from the 21 local government area of the state.

He said the government’s gesture was borne out of commitment to alleviate the suffering of the less privilege people in the society.

The governor recalled that when he embarked on his electioneering campaign in 2011, the physically challenged supported him.

He commended the United States of America based NGO for donating 575 wheel Chairs free of Charge and partnering with the state government.

Wada congratulated the beneficiaries, urging them to form a committee to liaise with the state government in other areas of needs.

Wife of state Governor, Hajia Halima Wada who is the Chairperson of Kogi Women Empowerment Initiative, KOWEN, expressed gratitude to the donor, as she stated that KOWEN has not left any stone unturned in the area of free health facilities at grass roots.

Earlier in her address, the Chief Executive Officer of Associated Help Resource Centre, Mrs. Theresa Alaibe said her organisation which is based in the USA, covers the entire West Africa and is already in five states helping the physically challenged persons.
