Kogi State Deputy Governor, Dr. Edward Onoja, via a meet and greet session on Saturday, hosted former Big Brother Naija (BBN) Season 6 “Shine Ya Eye” edition housemate, Samuel Jacob Alifa, popularly known as Sammie.

Sammie, a Kogi State indigene, born and bred in Kaduna, north-western Nigeria, came into the spotlight in 2021 after making an appearance in the popular reality TV show.

Familiarizing with Sammie at his residence, Chief Onoja described him as a worthy son of Kogi State, truly representative of the humility, talent, passion, industry, and ambition the Kogi youth is known for.

He regretted the dearth of values for organization, coordination, and sustainability of purpose by many youths who rise into fame across the country, advising Sammie to uphold the traits of originality that endeared him to his Housemates and the viewing public.

He counseled Sammie to ensure a balance in his educational pursuit as a final year student of Ahmadu Bello University and his chosen career paths as a screenwriter, videographer, and filmmaker. He tasked the ex-BBN Housemate to utilize the opportunities that come with his fame to make resounding impacts on his family, friends, and the general society with increased efforts to fully explore his potentialities.

Earlier, Sammie appreciated the Deputy Governor for the great honor and warm reception accorded him, extending his gratitude to the people of Kogi State and all those who supported him while in the House with the promise to continually uphold the Kogi identity as he did in his time at the House.
