Kogi Deputy Governor Harps on Girl-Child Education

The Deputy Governor of Kogi state, Elder Simon Achuba has called on parents all over the state to invest on not only on male-child education but also to pay priority attention on girl-child education for a better society.

Achuba, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, gave the charge when the Forum of former Councillors and supervisory Councillors paid a courtesy call on him in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital.
The Deputy Governor frowned at a situation where the male child is preferred to the female child when it comes to educational build up, saying the female child in some cases are useful to the family than the male child.
According to him, “God has given talents to the female children and anybody that denied them of the talents, denied his helpers”.
While expressing worry on the state of education in Ibaji local government area of the state, the Deputy Governor assured that the present administration of the state led by Governor Yahaya Bello would come to the aid of the people in the area in terms of educational development.
He urged the forum to be focused and firmed in their support for the government of the state, saying the Bello led administration has a lot of developmental projects for the people.
Earlier, the spokesman of the group, Hon. Monday Ogwor said the members of the forum were in Lokoja to reaffirm their support for the present administration of the state led by Governor Yahaya Bello, saying they were ready to work for the government at all times.
The forum spokesman thanked the Deputy Governor over the support he has been giving the group, urging him to continue the good work.
While also commending Governor Yahaya Bello on the flag off of Idah-Ibaji road, the forum spokesman appealed to the government to expedite action on the construction of the road.
