Whenever I read stories online pertaining the government of his Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, two things occur to me. First, the consequence of ignorance and the proceed of good seed. This is not because the two are interwoven but basically to address the reality ahead of Kogites.

Whether said or silent about it, as an insider of the New direction government of Kogi State. I say with every sense of humility and blind compromise that Kogi State government have never been so well structured like it is today. Our people are suffering and we are not happy about it but the state is heading towards prosperity and that is a news to rejoice about. The success of staff screening and verification exercise shall not be to the advantage of Alhaji Yahaya Bello alone but to the interest of Kogi State as well as successive governments which shall emerge.

Kogi State is far backwards in terms of infrastructure and human capital development potentials as against her contemporary states which were created along in 1991. Not because of inadequate funding hitherto but as a result of irregularities and abnormalities that characterised the state wage bill. Don’t forget, Kogi major wage bill is the civil servants salaries and pensioners entitlements.

Even though there are a lot of legitimate staff and pensioners, the greed plot of some cabals have stagnated with stiff resistance the possibility of government to meet up with legitimate staff expectations which is prompt and full salaries. It is worthy to note therefore that all the previous administration of Kogi State at one time or the other carried out screening because the obviously over bloated scheme that has made the state stand still.

However, the result or final impacts are usually minimal due to the interference of cabals and bottle necks and that is where the new direction government of his Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is getting it right.

Irrespective of who you are and the the acolytes you have. The screening committee has so far been transparent and just to all concern. In the end, no legitimate worker shall be affected and neither will Kogi have cause of going back to screening again as a comprehensive data base will be opened for kogi state civil service.

I am therefore calling on Kogites to be patient with this administration, make cases based on objective criticism and pray for a greater and prosperous Kogi State that we shall all be proud of. The new direction team is working and Kogi is rising. We will get it right.
