Kogi state Chief Judge, Justice Nasiru Ajanah, has charged the newly appointed Notary Public for the state, Aliyu Maitasamu Abdullahi, to sustain his honesty and dedication to duty on his elevation.

Justice Ajanah, who gave the charge while swearing-in the new Notary Public in his office in Lokoja yesterday, also implored him to use his position to meet the challenges of the judiciary and for the benefit of the people of the state, “and not for the purpose of mischief or fanning the embers of political sentiments or differences in religious beliefs or tribalism.”

According to him, “there is no doubt that your honesty, dedication to duty, candour and your belief in the rule of law has brought this well merited appointment.”

Justice Ajanah, who expressed joy over the elevation of Abdullahi to Notary Public, commended the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Samuel Nkanu Onnoghen, for the “honour done to our son,” as well as the opportunity given him to administer the Oath of Notary Public on the new appointee.

Responding, Abdullahi appreciated the recognition given him “towards ensuring effective dispensation of public justice in Kogi state,” and gave the assurance that he would justify the confidence reposed in him in the discharge of his duty.
