Alhaji Yakubu Oseni (AYO), a leading contestant for Kogi Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said those who thrive in peddling falsehood will soon run out of stock as general election draws nearer.
Alhaji Oseni said this in his Okene country home while reacting to the increased spate of impersonation, poster defacing and harassment of his supporters by the opponents especially the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
According to him, his senatorial bid is borne out of sincere zeal to change the narrative of Kogi Central, adding that he will not budge no matter the extent of mudslinging, name calling and unpatriotic attempt by the opposition to subvert the will of the people.
“AYO is a movement and just like an idea, the movement is indestructible. I urge other contestants and supporters to go about their electioneering campaign peacefully and act according to the rule of the game. Bear in mind that we all belong to the Senatorial District we seek to represent. Don’t destroy Kogi Central with lies, hate speech and politics of bitterness”, he cautioned.
Earlier, a statement issued by the media unit of Alhaji Yakubu Oseni Senatorial Campaign Organisation (AYOSCO) accused the senatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Barr Natasha Apokti of cloning award plaques, defaced their principal’s poster and sponsoring unfounded negative stories.
The statement equally revealed that Natasha has mastered the act of spinning stories of nonexistent accident scenes just to curry public sympathy.
“Her ploy to curry public sympathy through the much-talked-about, organised and fictitious auto crash last year is still very fresh in our memory. Also, people are aware of her penchant for laying claim to fictitious crime scenes just to seek cheap political advantage and placing of SDP poster on AYO’s poster is to say the least, immature.
“The recent in her stock of deciet is to clone AYO award plaques and redesigned the Chelsea Jersey presented AYO. How can Chelsea give crested jersey to uninvited guests? That is the height of deceit!”
