Senator Yakubu Oseni representing Kogi Central Senatorial District has once again in another phase of empowerment scheme, empowered 500 market women and youths drawn from Adavi and Okene Local Government Areas of his constituency.
The lawmaker who was yesterday represented by the duo of his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Aliyu Bello and Personal Assistant, Mall. Yusuf Abdulmumin said he will continue to accord deserving recognition to women and youths who he described as agents of societal development.
Senator Oseni noted that as a leader who is always in constant touch with people at the grassroots, he is not oblivious of difficult financial situation owners of small and medium scale enterprises go through.
While urging them to be more patient and prayerful in the phase of the current economic situation, the lawmaker charged the beneficiaries to adequately utilize the capital for the purpose for which it was meant to.
He said “I advise you all to invest this token in your already existing respective businesses. We are in austerity period that demands prudence and thriftiness in our finances and I believe through the grace of Almighty Allah, we will weather the storm together.”
The lawmaker who revealed that the empowerment scheme is a continuous one said other local government areas of his constituency will be captured in the next phase which will come up as soon as possible.
