Life would never be the same and memories would never fade in Okene Local Government, especially for the families whose loved ones suffered horrific ordeals in the hands of Natasha armed Niger Delta militants and thugs who attacked the community some hours ago.
Members of Kogi Central Media Crew this afternoon were at Okene Zonal Hospital where many of the victims were being treated. The Senatorial Candidate of SDP in Kogi Central, Ms Natasha Akpoti again caused mayhem in Idoji, Orietesu and Iruvucheba areas of Okene Local Government Area as her thugs during her campaigns attacked APC supporters who were conducting house to house campaigns in their Wards.
As if it was a crime to do so, the armed Niger Delta militants and thugs employed by Ms Natasha swooped on the defenceless APC supporters thereby inflicting severe gun shot injuries on them. While unleashing their mayhem, other innocent souls were not left out as a 7 year old boy was also shot in the eye while drinking garri in his house.
Equally, Hafiz Muhammed, Muhammed Mustapha, Jimoh Adinoyi and Sufyan all residents of Idoji Ward were shot by the armed militants employed by Ms Natasha whom she has ordered to shoot at sight.
Similarly, a Toyota Sienna bus belonging to the Supervisor for Health, Okene Local Government, Hon. Suleiman Jatto was badly damaged by the rampaging Militants.
At Iruvucheba area, the hired militants destroyed not less than four vehicles parked at different locations under the cover of Security men deployed from Kwara State Government House. The entire town was soaked with sounds of sporadic gun shots throughout the day by her security men.
The pertinent questions begging for answers are:
1. How does a civilian have the temerity to possess, handle and shoot guns for whatever reasons?
2. Why should the Security Agencies maintain deaf ears to Natasha’s unceasing threats to make Kogi Central ungovernable?
3. Why should our repeated reports of her plans to orchestrate violence, overheat the polity and blackmail the government be handled with kid gloves?
4. Is Ms Natasha a golden goose that even the authority cannot tame?
5. Is Natasha too big for the Security to keep in check or are there things being hidden from the general public?
6. Is Ms Natasha the only opposition Candidate vying for the Senate in Kogi Central?
7. For how long would the people continue to suffer in the hands of Natasha and her armed bandits even after videos of their evil plans was made public.
8. Why does Natasha’s threat to shoot at sight handled with levity?
At this juncture, we would like to remind the general public and Security agencies of our earlier warnings which were rebuffed. Now that Ms Natasha has made true her threats to shoot at sight, what options were the people left with as her plans to destabilize the relative peace is already yielding results.
Once again, we call on the government, security agencies, traditional rulers and good spirited individuals to as a matter of urgency, give utmost priority to Natasha’s excesses in a bid to curb her endless menace to the people she sought to represent.
The people have been stretched too far!
