The senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kogi Central, Engr. Abubakar Ohere has expressed sadness over the demise of Dr. Umar Faruq Abdulazeez.

Engr. Ohere, in a statement he personally signed, described the death of the patriarch as the departure of a patriot whose life of service and humility was widely acknowledged.

“Late Dr. Faruq was a very nice man with a clean heart. He was humble, sincere and selfless in service. He was indeed a true democrat who left no one in doubt about his loyalty to his country, love for peace, desire for unity and vision for a greater Nigeria.

“Dr. Faruq is a national leader I’ve personally tapped his fountain of leadership through our Leader, governor Yahaya Bello.

“In my political sojourn as the Kogi Central APC Senatorial Candidate, I have personally received his blessings and endorsement. His death came in as a big blow to us and he has left a bigger vacuum no one could fill.

“But let’s be consoled by the fact that he lived his life in the service of God and his country,” Ohere said.

He extended his deepest condolences to Gov. Yahaya Bello and the good people of Ebiraland.

“I prayed God to grant the departed soul eternal repose and the family, community and entire nation the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
