Adavi Local Government Uka Women Group and artisans have unanimously endorsed the Senatorial bid of Alhaji Yakubu Oseni, the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kogi Central Senatorial District.
This endorsement was given recently in the Ogaminana when Alhaji Yakubu Oseni Senatorial campaign team embarked on its routine grassroots consultation across the central Senatorial District.
Alhaji Yakubu Oseni who had earlier curry the royal blessings of the Sarikin Hausawa, Alhaji Baba Yusuf Saleh in his Okene palace, promised the women that he would exploit all legislative means to obtain aids from international donor agencies for them when given the mandate to represent them at the National Assembly.
Alhaji Oseni stressed that the time is ripe for women in Kogi Central to enjoy real dividend of democracy as against the erstwhile practice of distribution of petty items as empowerment scheme.
In the same vein, the leader of the forty different artisans groups, Comrade Ezzu Umar bemoaned that empowerment materials like motorcycle, sewing machine, hair dryer and hair clippers meant for them were usually diverted to unintended beneficiaries. He expressed optimism that with the track record of Alhaji Oseni, they will not be neglected as the previous leaders did.
Responding, Alhaji Oseni while assuring them of adopting open door policy and purposeful representation when elected urged the artisans to cast their votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election in order to change the bitter story of ineffective representation at the National Assembly and the country at large.
