By February 2019, the people of Kogi Central will be going to the polls to elect who they will want to represent them in the next Senate, taking effect from June 2019 onwards.
This article does not at all seek to discredit the person of any candidate in particular.
In fact every person aside Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe, vying for the Senate ahead of 2019 is not bad in anyway in as much as he or she has the constitutional right to contest.
Be it as it may, among all, it is needful that we focus our attention on the candidacy of Senator Ahmed Salau Ogembe.
It is not a thing of doubt that over the years past, Kogi Central has been through lots of turbulent times.
As such, Senator A. S. Ogembe saw the need in 2015 to seek to represent and bring the needed dividends of democracy to the Constituency.
By the grace of God and the peoples mandate, Senator Ogembe after the legal battle in court was able to claim his mandate as rightfully bestowed by the people and later in the year 2016 he was sworn in as the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial Constituency for the Assembly period lasting till 2019, that is, the Eight Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Looking at the various achievements of Senator Ogembe within the short while he has done at the Senate thus far, one can only be filled with joy, while looking forward already as to what more he will be doing if given a further possible four-year term at the Senate.
For this reason and more, considering the huge expectations cropping up lately as it concerns the continued good of Kogi Central Senatorial Constituency, it becomes vital that Senator Ogembe be given yet another opportunity to deliver more and more on his plans and vision for Kogi Central Senatorial Constituency.
To state a few; in terms of constituency development, human capital empowerment, job creation, facilitation of jobs for constituents, social intervention, sponsoring of people-impactful bills and motions, in fact Senator A. S. Ogembe within the short while he has been at the Senate thus far, he has done very well.
Hence, come 2019 the people of Kogi Central will be having no other option than to support and vote Senator A. S. Ogembe to continue at the Senate.
This is because, having done well in his first term at the Senate thus far, he will have to be given the go-ahead by the people for yet another term at the Senate.
After all, one good turn they say ‘deserves another’.
As well, I am using this note to charge the honourable PDP delegates and ever-capable Party leadership in Kogi Central Senatorial district to critically observe the times and prevailing constraints, understand and be convinced beyond any doubt, that the good sellability of Senator Ogembe is already known to all in Kogi Central and it is the needful in ensuring that the PDP as a political party continues its much-needed grip on the political terrain of Kogi Central.
With Senator Salau Ogembe, PDP will win (in) Kogi Central again in 2019.
