“Anxiety and Intense political maneuvering exhibit a struggle politicking aura in Kogi Central as 2015 general election is fast approaching.”

Kogi Central like any other district in Kogi state has become an entity of internal struggle and jungle where only the fittest survive and the strong rule – Survival of the fittest.

Its so apparent that politics has become a centre of occupation amidst the people of Kogi Central, most especially my people, the Anebira’s. Under the atmosphere of the cloudy 2015 election, the race of power possessions and the quest for ‘who get what, when and how’ has become the order of the day. Every individual want to sacrifice his or her own interest to acquire the status of influence, well, this portrays our traits of being political conscious.

Kogi central senatorial district race has overnight become a marathon race which no lucky participant want to forfeit, each aspiring individual now therefore uses any available means to possess such possessions.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) is in the race with two candidates. They are former member of the Senate, Sen. Salihu Ohiare and Sen. Salihu Ohize each having their own individual loyalty and supporters. The returning of the present representative of Kogi central senatorial district, Sen. Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman back to the upper chamber through the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform in the next dispensation is also a threat that is calling huge attention for. The struggle continues and gather momentum with the ever conscious gladiator of Okene local government chairman, Salawu Ahmed Ogembe (SAO), who also is a contender of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Nothing less than Eighty-Seven days to 2015 general election the battle for senate in Kogi central district has been claimed to take a new dimension as Alhaji. Hamza Usman joins the race also on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a promising effectiveness of positive change. The youngest among them, Alh. Usman Hamza according to his articulations is classified as a well initiated fulfilling political icon whose impact is being felt in Kogi and Kwara state.

However, as each aspirant is nursing its ambition, same we the electorates is highly surveillant, because leadership quality is a major prerequisite for leadership goals attainment. As technocracy is a determining agent of a true representative democratic system of government, so therefore the merits of each aspirant will determine their chance of winning.
