Cattle dealers in Kogi State have called on the Federal Government to find ways of ending clashes between herdsmen and farmers across the country.
Chief of cattle dealers (Serki Zongo) in Lokoja, Ahmad Halidu, made the call yesterday while speaking with our correspondent in Lokoja.
He lamented that the clashes are affecting the supply of meat and cattle, as according to him, prices of the products have increased.
“The problem is that farmers always cultivate farms along grazing areas without thinking of herdsmen and you know they don’t joke with their cattle. Now, there is scarcity of cattle, so we will experience increase in the price of meat. Government should urgently address this problem,” he said.
