Kogi Awards N632m Lokoja Road Contracts

Kogi State government has awarded contracts for the construction of three new roads in Lokoja township at a cost of N632.7 million.

A statement issued on Sunday in Lokoja said that the state governor, Capt Idris Wada, gave the contractor, Messrs KAIBO Nig. Ltd. eight months to complete the project.

According to the statement signed by the Special Adviser on media to the governor, Mr Jacob Edi, Wada also promised to embark on mass road development and maintenance in the new year and seek the participation of private sector towards this endeavour.

The governor mentioned that the reconstruction of Ageva-Ogori road started by the state government in the middle of 2013 had been completed, while the rehabilitation of Kabba and Okura /Okaba township roads were ongoing.

He said that the state was also in the process of awarding the contract for the construction of Lokoja-Eggan- Buddon road, and warned contractors to always abide by specifications and deliver only quality jobs.
