Prince Matthew Olushola Kolawole has officially declared his intention to run for the Kogi State House of Assembly to represent Kabba/Bunu Constituency in the 2015 political dispensation under the platform of the People Democratic Party, (PDP).

The business mogul and a philanthropist of repute made this known when he paid a season’s visit to the traditional ruler of the community, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Funsho Olobayo, (JP, OON) and other traditional rulers within the local government with his campaign team that accompanied him.

According to him, the Kolawole Campaign Organisation decided to kick start its activities toward the 2015 general election by seeking the blessing and prayers of the royal fathers, nothing that as part of Owe culture, they must inform the royal fathers before commencing any work on the project.

Prince Kolawole, a socialist and community developer showcased an unprecedented political maturity in the quest for power when he voluntarily stepped down for Hon. Jethro Funsho Oni for the same position in 2007 following advise by the late Dr. Stephen Olorunfemi, the political leader then, which he obliged in good faith and went ahead to support both the candidate and the party.

Kolawole who is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Four-Star Golden Grand Royale Hotel, Kabba admitted the late political leader and party chieftain really counseled him that time which made him to gladly step down and worked for the success of the then candidate.

He urged the monarch not to be tired of talking to the people that matters on his behalf.

The consultant and party loyalist said it is germane for him to contribute his quota to the overall development of both the area and the state by joining other members from across the state to formulate laws and policies that will move the state forward.

The former tennis player used the opportunity to commend the traditional institutions under Oba Michael Olobayo for their steadfastness and support since he started in 2013.
