With the successful conduct of ward, local government and state congresses of the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) party in Kogi State, the chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources and Environmental Management Committee (MIREMCO), Hajia Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman said the party has solidified its presence in the state through the democratic disposition of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Hajia Hassiat made this declaration at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, the venue of the state congress shortly after Hon. Abdullahi Bello was elected chairman to conduct the affairs of the party in the state for the next the next four years.
While congratulating the Governor and members of his cabinet for yet another feat achieved by the party through transparent processes, the MIREMCO boss affirmed that the presence of the Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Professor James Apam, APC stalwarts across the state as well as the unprecedented number of party members present at the exercise was enough conviction that APC is the party to beat in the state.
She charged the new excos to see their position as a call to serve the people and deepen the membership drive of the party, adding that APC has again demonstrated its belief in internal democracy through the peaceful exercise.
Hajia Hassiat expressed optimism that Kogi people will once again demonstrate their love for President Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello in 2019 general elections as a result of their uncompromising stance for people-focused policies.
She called on other contestants to work for the success of the party and the New Direction administration of Governor Yahaya Bello to salvage the state, and further averred that the era of shoddy governance in Kogi State is gone.
