Following the crisis within the All Progressives Congress, APC, family in Kogi State alot of press conferences has being held some in favour and against   the incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello.

Recently the Coliation of APC Support Groups led by Dr. Yakubu Ugwolawo expressed concern on the issues bordering on ‘Vote of no confidence’ said to have being passed on Governor Yahaya Bello by the State Executive Committee of the All Progressive Congress led by its Chairman, Alhaji Haddy Ametuo.

Dr Ugwolawo, during a media parley, said “the time for this vote of no confidence by the State Executive committee of the party seems to us, to be inappropriate and diversionary, judging from the current legal issues, which are being handled at the election Tribunal in respect of the governorship election “

Some aggrieved stakeholders asked the governor to resign while wards executives across the 21 local government councils and the youths wing of the party threw their weight behind the governor.

The group frowned at the action of the aggrieved party executive members, arguing that the idea of going to press was not in the best interest of the party, as such undue publicity of the party dispute runs foul of article 21(A)(V) of the party constitution, which prescribe such action as one of the offences against the party.

“We are saddened by the hasty nature with which a strictly family affair has been blown out of proportion without exhausting all the available options within the party structure and organs meant for the resolution of such dispute”, he said.

The group called the national leadership of APC to initiate reconciliatory moves to bring the party and its government to a cordial relationship for the development of Kogi state.

However, they appealled to the citizens of the State to be patient and cooperate with the State government to enable a peaceful coexistence which will engender purposeful development of the State.
