The member representing Okene I state constituency in Kogi State House of  Assembly, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmad, has challenged Kogi state political leaders to always focus on ways that will help improve the development aspirations of the people.
In an anniversary message made available to Kogireports through his media aide, Comrade Danfulani Lukman, Hon. Lawi called on Kogites, especially the youths, to consider this period of celebrating the state’s 26th anniversary as a special moment of sober reflection rather than a time to engage in an unnecessary criticisms of the government that will always take the state backward.
The lawmaker noted that the moment should also be used to pray for Kogi state and the ‘God-ordained governor’, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for God’s guidance to the path of making the state great that all will be proud of.
While noting that the political class may have contributed largely to the rot in the society, Lawi said the the followers too have their share in the rot.
He urged all the political leaders in the state to use this period to make resolutions to contribute their quota to building a state that all will be proud of. He emphasised that state building is not a job for a select few, adding that the will of the people should always prevail in the choice of a candidate to represent them at any level.
