Whoever and whatever sinister motives envisaged by the designer of those graphic signs to exhume the mind of the former governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, the rumored endorsement of his son is totally dead on arrival (DOA). The alleged intended plan remains an unimaginable illusion.
The people of Kogi state are not looking for just a head, but a head with capacity and such can never come through imposition, rather through popular decisions. Almost sixty percent, 60%, of Kogites are very much enlightened and are abreast of the precarious challenges facing us, leadership wise.We will not get liberation by forcing sympathy on the populace, no matter how rich and influential one think he or she is, the choice of the majority surely shall be respected and will prevail.
The former Governor, Alh Ibrahim Idris knows quite well the implication of imposition. He was never imposed. The primaries that produced him in the run up to the 2003 election, which by the grace of God he won, went through free and fair processes to the point that a run-off was to decide who get the ticket between him and Senator AT Ahmed of blessed memory. If the system was muddled then, HE Alh Ibrahim Idris would not have emerged, so I guess he won’t dare it as I know such moves will meet stiff resistance from all.
I am sure the party knows too well that it will lead to mass exodus of party faithfuls in the event that it happen and the party cannot afford that for now. The national headquarters of the party should be aware of this implication, except only if they want to see to the funeral of the party.
The last bye election in Lokoja/Koto is a glaring evidence that all these former appointees and former elective party people have no power, passion and ability to return and build the same party that built them. But quite unfortunately, when any relevant decisions are to be made or taken, these same unable minds would be asked to have plenty of inputs when in actual sense they are the ‘I GET AM BEFORE’ men. The party PDP is known as  Peoples Party and not any body’s party, nor a personal property. Alhaji Ibrahim Idris did enjoyed the mandate of these same people at ease when he held sway. Kogites appreciate his reign and naturally his terms have successfully come and gone, glory to God, Kogites have moved on.
The search now is for some set of leaders and representatives with capacity and accessibility, such that will lift us out of the mess and mistakes these juveniles, who found themselves holding positions of authorities by opportunity, have pushed us into.
So, it is not something of one past leader making attempt or efforts aimed at satisfying his own bids and desires at the detriment of the likely choice of the entire good people of Kogi state. This, I guess, should be a signal in case, should such motives or plan is contemplated. The people’s loyalty should not be taken for granted.
Kogites will decide and their choices, to the glory of God, shall be a perfect one come 2019.
A greater Kogi is possible.
