The Great State of Kogi has come to a crossroad. We have reached a point in our lives where we must make hard choices about our future. These crucial choices will be reflected upon by generations to come. Our great grandchildren will look back upon this day and age and either praise our steadfastness, our resilience, our love of state and country, or they will scoff at our inability to rise to this occasion.

Our legacy, our history and our future is all under attack. We are plagued by the lack of good governance, and it must be remedied. No more can be dwell in this pool of mediocrity in which we find ourselves. So, I must reiterate, Kogi has come to a crossroad.

Here, today and now we can either shy away from the occasion or choose to rise above it. I have made my decision, and it is time we, as a state, collectively make our decision. It is time to throw our full weight behind the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), under whose leadership we shall return to past glory, and continue to make strides in the right direction, and there is no man with greater Capacity to bear this burden of leadership than Aminu Abubakar Suleiman, ‘Mr. Capacity’.

Upon much deliberation, Aminu Abubakar Suleiman (AAS) has answered the call of his statesmen to throw his hat into the ring for the race to become Governor of the Great State of Kogi, and we must rally around him. He is a man with the requisite vision to alleviate us from these dark days we face.

He is a man with the requisite Capacity and know-how to lead us into a different future away from this supposed change. He is a man who shall place himself at the beck and call of his statesmen, regardless of ethnicity. He is the confluence of all our various tribes, who shall bring together Igala, Ebira, Okun and Bassa-Nge, under the umbrella of the PDP, sheltering us from the rainy days of today. Aminu Abubakar Suleiman is our future, our salvation, our hope for better days. A man who can, and a man who will. So, let us do the needful.

Aminu Abubakar Suleiman is poised to be the new face of the People’s Democratic Party in Kogi. This is a Gubernatorial candidate the populace can resonate with. A man with enough goodwill for the public to stand behind, and who will in turn champion their cause through various social welfare programmes. Economic Development, Educational Reform, Fiscal Responsibility, Security, Health Care and Government Transparency & Accountability are crucial areas a Governor with the right Capacity would focus on. Leadership is a rare but in expendable quality, that many profess to wield, but few actually possess.

Regarding the Economy, it is his paramount interest to ensure we have a strong private sector and civil service. The beginning of which shall commence with proper remuneration for the Civil services efforts to uplift our state, and a deviation from the current norm of several months salaries in arrears. We must break this unjust and inhumane status quo, that has brought nothing but hardship to our people.

The next order of business would be stimulating the growth of our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). This initiative, of course, would be driven by creating the best possible atmosphere for the private sector to thrive business wise. Aminu shall ensure that we offer businesses the right incentives to set up shop in our lands blessed with many natural resources, but more importantly, human resources.

Aminu is a Governor capable of making Kogi the Industrial Hub of our Geopolitical Zone, or dare I say, the entire nation. The plan is to lay down the blueprint, mapping out the next 20 years of prosperity for us.

Forging the way forward starts today. Become a part of this by supporting the candidate with the Capacity to change the trajectory of our beloved state. A candidate who undertakes to enforce the policy of compulsory basic education for our children aged 5 to 18 years old. Under him, education shall not be the privilege of the rich but a universal right, where everybody shall be carried along at least to the level of attaining a secondary school certificate. Beyond that, merit based scholarships, devoid of politics, shall be made available to those keen of attaining a higher education. As stated earlier, Kogi’s human capital is our most valuable assets, and we must cultivate it. Education cannot make us all leaders, but it can teach us which leader to follow.

A recurring challenge for past administrations has been providing adequate health care for our citizens in rural areas. Under the leadership of Aminu Abubakar Suleiman we shall compel the use of local support professionals, mobile clinic and UAV services to ensure the presence of primary health care to our people, regardless of where they live. Just like education, health care is a universal right that must be provided for the populace. Another universal right of this kind is Security. Over the past few years this has become a serious impediment for the states within our Geopolitical Zone. Lack of security can incapacitate the efforts of any Government. It can hinder the freedom of movement, slow down the influx of business into our state, sow the seed of unrest within the public, and have many more undesirable effects. We must learn from the mistakes and successes of our neighbours with this regard, and must never take for granted security protocol. By fostering a sense of togetherness Aminu Abubakar Suleiman shall bring all stake holders to the table to hold each other accountable for our general security.

Aminu comes to us with a stellar record from the Private Sector. There, he has distinguished himself from the rest, emerging as a leader of the pack. He is a celebrated technocrat who specialises in Public Private Partnerships (PPP). His trade as a Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor has led to infrastructural development through multiple large-scale projects across the nation. It is time Kogi State monopolises this great talent of his to our exclusive benefit. He is the Governor we need, and the Governor we deserve. A Governor with the capacity to build not just bridges, but a legacy which history shall look upon favourably.

Aminu Abubakar Suleiman holds multiple degrees from top universities across the globe. One of which is with regards to Public Procurement Law and Policy. It is upon this backdrop of his expertise that he proposes a revolutionary overhaul of our procurement process and transparency of government to come in line with International best practices. This reform is with the aim of creating more efficiency in the execution of his Governments mandate. After all, the implementation of infrastructural development is what has brought him to the limelight as one of Kogi’s best and brightest sons.

As I have painstakingly emphasised on numerous occasions, we have a choice before us. A choice between a new deal for our people or the current hand we are being dealt. A choice between Aminu Abubakar Suleiman or the rest. Let us do ourselves and future generations a favour and side with the fresh, side with the new, side with the game changer of the PDP. God forbid it be in my time that the Great State of Kogi fall further into more disrepute than this current administration has brought it. It is time to usher in a shift in our political landscape. We must ultimately create a new dynamic in order for Kogi to realise its maximum potential.

Vote for a leader with Capacity to lead us forward. Vote Aminu Abubakar Suleiman. God bless Kogi State. We can, We will.
