Kogi 2015: Police Charge Politicians To Play By The Rules

Ahead of the 2015 general elections, Kogi State commissioner of police, Mr Paul Okafor has charged politicians to strictly abide by the rules of the game and avoid any act of violence during the election.

Okafor gave the charge at a workshop organised by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in collaboration with the state police command in Lokoja.

He said the command was poised to respond adequately to any form of breach of the law that might arise from campaigns and other political activities leading to the elections.

The police boss said the workshop was the outcome of a major step towards an effective and bold synergy between the police and all stakeholders aimed at achieving a “hitch-free, credible, fair and violent-free elections.”

Okafor assured that the command would deplore all necessary personnel and materials to ensure that the elections are peaceful throughout the three stages of the process.
