The Kogi Central Forecast Group, KCFG, has endorsed the immediate past Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Treasurer as the next Okene Local Government Chairman.

Speaking in meeting held at Okene Town hall, Inike on Thursday, the spokesman of the group, Mr. Yakubu Nazir Abdulhakeem, described the Ex-State Party Executive as a young, vibrant politician and a strong pillar of Okene Politics.

Yakubu Nazir said it was their desire that the position of the Okene Local Government Chairman be occupied by the political guru who can unite the youths and promote peace and development of Okene, adding that Hon. Lawal Umar Adoziogu is the best man to succeed Hon. Muhammed Jamiu Sadiq because he played a vital role during the past elections in Okene.

He argued that lack of internal democracy has been the bane of the Okene politics which led to dictatorship as few leaders hijacked the Okene politics to the detriment of loyal members.

He explained that what the ruling party needs to overcome the challenges ahead is to choose Umar Adoziogu that would be guided by good ideals such as equity and justice.

The group also passed Vote of Confidence on the Governor, Alhaji Adoza Yahaya Bello, on his one hundred days in office. The group hailed the governor for being courageous with the screening of state and local government workers to drive out ghost workers in the state and allow genuine workers to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

“We commend the Governor on the journey so far on bailout granted by Federal Government to him which will be judiciously used for what it is made for”, he added.

“We appeal to the governor that he should allow Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission, KOSIEC, to conduct free and fair election on the forthcoming local government elections and allow democracy to take place by electing council Chairmen, not selection which is alien to the Change Era.

“Let Okene people choose a grassroots politician as their chairman not retrogressive politician who is after position in all circumstances. As for Okene being the heart of Ebira, its politics should be based on three facts: Eligibility, Sincerity and the Zeal to serve.

“Hon. Lawal Umar Adoziogu is a man who can move Okene Local Government to the next stage of progress without rancour, discrimination and other vices.
