Senator Sunday Karimi of Kogi West has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the North Central Development Commission Bill into law, a move aimed at tackling infrastructural challenges in the region.
The newly established commission is expected to serve as a federal intervention agency, focusing on rebuilding deteriorating infrastructure in North Central states.
Senator Karimi highlighted the importance of the commission in addressing issues worsened by conflicts between Fulani herders and farmers, as well as other developmental setbacks.
“The President has signed the North Central Development Commission Bill into law, and it is clear that this commission will assist in the development of our region,” Karimi stated.
He commended President Tinubu for his commitment to the North Central region, emphasizing that initiatives benefiting the area contribute to the overall progress of Nigeria.
“Mr. President has demonstrated his love for the people of North Central. Whatever is done for this region is a step forward for the entire country, as we are all interconnected,” he remarked.
Karimi further praised the President’s foresight in national development and assured that stakeholders in the region would collaborate to ensure the commission achieves its objectives.
He also called on Nigerians to continue supporting the administration’s efforts to drive development across the country.
