Cases of kidnapping have been reported in several parts of the country in recent times with Kogi among the states where the federal government is tackling insecurity.

This was despite President Muhammadu Buhari’s assurance that the era of insecurity in the country would soon be over.

A few weeks ago, some medical practitioners were attacked and kidnapped in Ondo state. Dayo, a son of Isaac Adewole, former minister of health, was also abducted in Afijio local government area of Oyo state.

Rotimi Akeredolu, governor of Ondo state, had also narrated how suspected kidnappers targeted his convoy.
