Preparation towards the 2018 Kabba Day celebration has kickstarted in earnest with the announcement of names of members of the various committee charged with the responsibility of planning and working towards a successful day.
Kabba Day is a yearly socio-cultural event held every November to promote unity, progress and development of the ancient city. Kabba is the headquarter of the defunct Kabba Province, headquarter of current Kogi West Senatorial district and the Yoruba speaking part of Kogi state.
In a release made available to the press and signed by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi mnipr, the committee has been saddled with the responsibility of conducting daily affairs and activities leading to a successful celebration.
While announcing the names of members of the committee through the Media and Publicity subcommitte, Chairman of the 2018 Kabba Day, Hon. Raphael Okomoda describe the process of selection of the committee members as thorough, all encompassing and detailed.
He described the committee members as men and women of honour, candour and patriotic Owe ambassadors who have distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavors
While admonishing the members of the committee to discharge their duties with utmost responsibility and commitment, the President-General of Kabba Development Union, Engr Emmanuel Ajibero tasked them to ensure a successful outing that will foster unity, progress and development of the community and entire Okunland.
Engr Ajibero enjoined committee members to bring class, glamour and style into the event.
Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi assured the Obaro of Kabba, His Royal Majesty Oba Solomon Oladele Owoniyi, community leaders and members of Owe community of an eventful, glamorous and successful event. He however invite every spirited people of Owe and Okunland to join hands with the committee for a prosperous Kabba Day.
