Ambassador Otitoju Oyeyemi Joseph (Oyela) has been affirmed as Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate in 2019 Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu House of Representative in 2019 general elections.
Ambassador Oyeyemi got the affirmative poll at the SDP primary Elections held in Kabba, the headquarters of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area. The event which was well attended by party members in the two local government areas of the Federal constituency, Kogi state, national officers of the party and official of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In his speech after the affirmative poll, Ambassador Oyeyemi thanked the people of the area for their support and confidence reposed on him for counting him worthy to be their candidate in the forthcoming elections and promised not to disappoint them.
He reiterated his desire to provide a better representation pointing out the problem of the constituency is lack of quality representation which has been negatively affecting the development of the area.
He promised to be the voice of the constituency and take the area to the next level of development.
According to him, he will bridge the lacuna between governance at the top and his people who will be carried along in his programmes and activities and promised a self less service and provide a platform whereby federal projects will be facilitated to the area.
Ambassador Oyeyemi revealed that he has no godfather apart from God who he said will make his aspiration to come to pass.
He said: “I owe no godfather a dime, your constituency allowance will be judiciously harnessed to the benefits of all and we shall live happily”.
The candidate appealed to the people for their support and massively for him and all the candidates of the Social Democratic Party at the forthcoming general elections.
He said that his upbringing in life has prepared his to provide a selfless service to mankind pointing out that for God to have brought him from a very low life to what he is today, he would use his position if he is given the opportunity to represent the area at the Green Chamber to better the lot of the people of the area.
Ambassador Oyeyemi appealed to the people to support SDP saying that their support will bring to the people doorsteps all deprived dividends of democracy.
