The Red Card Movement Nigeria has called on the people of Kogi State to use their permanent voters cards (PVCs) to effect political change in 2019.

Speaking at the launch of the movement in Lokoja, Kogi State on Saturday, the state champion, Comrade Simeon Opaluwa said the time has come for electorates to show bad leaders the way out.

Opaluwa said the June 30 Declaration of the Red Card Movement is a declaration against politicians without competence, capacity and character.

“The objective of the Red Card Movement is enthroning good governance and dethroning failed leadership at all levels, from ward councillors to the highest office in the country.

“I urge all Kogites to troop out en masse to obtain their permanent voters cards (PVCs) as this is their red card against mal-administration, blood letting, corruption and vissionless leadership. Nigerian’s are tired of sitting on fence watching politicians who lack competence, capacity and character manage their common patrimony.

“The June 30 ‘Game Over’ declaration is the beginning of our political revolution. It is game over for ineptitude, game over for incompetence and bad leadership. The citizens are going to make their statement which shall translate into good governance, God willing, in 2019. We cannot afford to repeat our past mistakes in 2019.

“We are all aware that few days back Nigeria got a very negative award by becoming the country with the highest percentage of poorest people in the world despite the huge resources at her disposal. This is a sad development.

“China has been able to pull over a hundred million of her citizens from the unemployment market but in Nigeria, reverse is the case, we are pushing people into the unemployment market. We have all it takes to get every citizen employed and engaged but the drivers of our political system have failed the people.

“We must rise and join this revolution. The revolution is aimed at rescuing the nation. It is a task must be accomplished because in few years to come we will become a very endangered specie is we fail to achieve this task,” he said.

He called on electorates in Kogi state to participate in all the processes of electioneering; before, during and after the elections.
