Frontline People’s Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives aspirant, Johnson Musa, today appealed to the sense of patriotism of delegates to the party’s primaries in Kogi, which will determine the choice of flag-bearer at next general elections.
He told them in a letter that delegates should look beyond instantaneous gratification from aspirants and consider the sufferings of the people in their decisions during primaries. PDP’s HORs primary is scheduled for 3rd of October, 2018
His Letter:
My Dear Delegates,
Seeking a new Kogi starts NOW, it begins today – it begins with your decision to change the way it has always been. I’m here before you seeking your assistance to nominate me as your flag bearer for our great party, PDP.
I urge you all [delegates], as you step out to cast your votes to elect the flag-bearer to represent Dekina-Bassa federal constituency; to please be reminded that a rare opportunity is in your hands to do that which will be beneficial, not only to you or your child, but to all our children in Kogi state.
Will you be guided by earnest desire for the common good to nominate someone who have what it takes to defeat other contestants and win Dekina-Bassa for the PDP?
You now have the chance to influence that change by nominating someone who has ability and capacity to defeat the incumbent and the pseudo feat they have achieved. History is beckoning you to write your name in gold, as a major facilitator in the transformation agenda of our state. Will you be guided by sentimentalities to nominate that man or woman you know has failed the test of representing the interest of his/her constituents, that he/she does not have what it takes to win the election?
Personal ambition does not drive me in this regard. I seek to be the next legislator representing YOU in the National assembly echoing the yearnings of the people of our beloved Kogi and Dekina-Bassa in particular, because I have something different from what is obtainable to offer Kogi. We all need to work together to lift our society up. Johnson Musa is ready to serve you.
