When news came out that Johnson Musa has been picked up by operatives of DSS allegedly on the directive of certain officials of Kogi State government, what came to my mind is when will the constituted authorities in the state realize the futility of its attempt to muzzle dissenting voices of Kogites who demand accountability from the government?
In the past eighteen months there has been several ill-advised arrests by those in power who are addicted to muscle flexing and egotrips.
People who proclaim the divinity and Omnipotence of God or Allah as the case may be, should understand that cruel, unreasonable and arbitrary use of power is a manifestation of innate deficiency in character.
Of all the mischievous and malicious arrests/prosecutions by the officials of the government of the state, none of the victims of this tyranny has been convicted. The modus operandi is the same and it confirms that certain individuals who have stumbled on power are now addicted to living out fantasies from a deprived childhood.
For an administration that owes its emergence to the benevolence of the judiciary to treat that same institution with disdain is really unfortunate and discomforting.
For a security agency as the DSS to allow itself to become a willing tool in the illegality and absurdity being perpetrated by government officials is the height of irresponsibility.
Musa Johnson was part of the peace committee that resolved the crisis in the state assembly in 2016 and a patriot who believes Kogi State despite the self-inflicted and contrived crisis foisted on it by juvenile and whimsy conduct of its rulers believes the State will emerge from its present precarious situation better and greater. That is why he goes by the alias, ‘INCURABLE OPTIMIST’
For the DSS to rearrest him after he was arraigned and granted bail by a court obviously on the orders of  those who see themselves as being above is impunity stretched beyond limit.
The continuous brazen abuse of power in Kogi State is making heroes of many and building a formidable group who will not be intimidated or cowed by the threat or thought of the irritation and inconvenience that comes with a few days incarceration.
The last time I checked, democracy is still the system of government in Nigeria but the continuous manifestation of monarchical tyranny by the Governor and some of his aides are jokes taken too far.
The right to freedom of expression is inalienable which no jackboot intimidation can deny or take away from anyone. No level of propaganda can obliterate the reality and anguish of kogites that are direct consequences of confused and callous policies of government.
Is it then possible to beat a child and attempt to stop him/her from crying? Absolutely no!
What makes democracy tick is the assured space for divergence and the guaranteed freedom to express views and opinions. Wailing and hailing are the notes of democratic symphony which the rulers in Lugard House appears not to understand.
My advice to His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is to take into cognizance the transience of life of which his time in Lugard  House as temporary caretaker is just an infinitesimal portion.
Our elders say the eve of every time bound event will eventually come.
In every criticism even those considered mischievous, the discerning can take positives either to correct an anomaly or improve on a shortcoming.
The present situation where every expressed opinion not in tandem with that of government elicits a desperate desire for another ego trip is a script  comedies are made of and that is nothing but treading a path of perfidy.
No matter how hard anyone tries, no matter the attempt made, democracy can never be monarchy and every action and proclamation in this direction is an exercise in futility.
Up till the moment, the miscreants that desecrated the hallowed chambers of Kogi State House of Assembly are still strutting around but a true Patriot is being locked up to massage the ego of certain individuals and there are expectations for a crisis free state. A very tall order as in expecting to find ice in hell.
I hope His Excellency is taking more than a passing interest in that time when the robe of immunity will be removed from his body. What goes around always come around and I hope when role reversal takes place there will be no regret and gnashing of teeth.
Kogi State is in dire straits and in need of redemption in the right direction and not the majoring in mundane that the new direction has exemplified.
I will not plead for Musa Johnson’s release from those bent on keeping him out of circulation for reasons only them are privy to. The courts will do that and eventually he will be discharged and acquitted with another shameful outing for those trying to take Kogites back to the time of Emperors.

Let those with ears hear what is the unapologetic opinion of a Kogite who believes enough of the peculiar mess in Kogi State.
