The immediate past Kogi State Accountant General, Alhaji Jibrin Momoh, has congratulated Muslims in the state on the occasion of the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan.
In his message to the Muslim faithful in the confluence state, Alhaji Jibrin urged them to uphold the core spirit behind fasting, which is self-discipline, piety, and generosity; he appealed to Muslims to use the month-long period of fasting to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the state and the country at large.
Alhaji Jibrin, who is also a frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress, also reminded Muslims of the need to shun all forms of vices and immoral activities during the holy month, stressing that Ramadan is a time for spiritual rejuvenation and renewal.
“The holy month of Ramadan is a period of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection for Muslims worldwide. It is a time when Muslims seek to purify their hearts, minds, and souls through abstinence from food and drink from dawn till dusk. It is also a time for increased acts of worship, charity, and kindness towards others.” He said
He further urged Muslims to extend hands of fellowship to the less privileged in the society by giving alms and engaging in acts of charity.
Alhaji Jibrin also called on Muslims to continue to pray for the state government and its leaders to enable them to deliver on their mandate of providing quality governance and development to the people of the state.
The former Accountant General urged Muslims to seize the opportunity of the holy month to draw closer to Allah and seek His mercy, forgiveness, and blessings.
